Review: Postal 2

“Live a week in the life of “The Postal Dude”; a hapless everyman just trying to check off some chores. Buying milk, returning an overdue library book, getting Gary Coleman’s autograph, what could possibly go wrong?

Blast, chop and piss your way through a freakshow of American caricatures in this darkly humorous first-person adventure. Meet Krotchy: the toy mascot gone bad, visit your Uncle Dave at his besieged religious cult compound and battle sewer-dwelling Taliban when you least expect them! Endure the sphincter-clenching challenge of cannibal rednecks, corrupt cops and berserker elephants. Accompanied by Champ, the Dude’s semi-loyal pitbull, battle your way through open environments populated with amazingly unpredictable AI. Utilize an arsenal of weapons ranging from a humble shovel to a uniquely hilarious rocket launcher. Collect a pack of attack dogs! Use cats as silencers! Piss and pour gasoline on anything and everyone! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!” -Steam

Where do I begin with this game? Well for a starters it’s so violent that New Zealand Banned it because of it’s “Gory Violence”, I’m not going to lie, that game is a brutal game in it’s nature BUT ONLY IF YOU WANT TO BE LIKE THAT! In Postal 2 you get a choice! ( I know right? Choices! ) You can be a kind hearted citizen of Arizona.. Or a murderous man mutilator with a weapons that will keep you busy for hours.. ( Been there, done that ) But anyway back to the review. So yes, this game is a gory violent choice making game where you will live the life of a man. Not just any ordinary man.. This man is called “The Postal Dude” He lives in a town known as Paradise, Arizona with his Dog and Wife. You will spend your time playing as “Postal Dude” For a week completing challenges, Objectives and.. well anything your hearts desire. The producers brought you a game where you can do anything, and I mean anything.. Want an example? Here’s one.. You can steal milk from a grocery store.. SO.. HARDCORE.. Or throw scissors at people dismembering their limbs leaving them screaming on the floor. But that’s not just it. You even get to listen to this guys constant ranting about what he wants and when he wants it. So what are you waiting for? This open world choice dazzling game is waiting for you! Get out there and play it. P.S Watch out for Rednecks in Postal 2. You’ll understand when it happens.

Adios Amigo’s.

Review: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

“Choose Your Path.
It is four thousand years before the Galactic Empire and hundreds of Jedi Knights have fallen in battle against the ruthless Sith. You are the last hope of the Jedi Order. Can you master the awesome power of the Force on your quest to save the Republic? Or will you fall to the lure of the dark side? Hero or villain, saviour or conqueror… you alone will determine the destiny of the entire galaxy!” -Steam

Back before BioWare made all these fancy games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins there were a series of games that could well be the best Star Wars RPG with famous Lore that wouldn’t just continue on from one game, But the entire storyline of several games, books and movies such as Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Now if you’re a fan of the older setting with old texture compiles and sound capabilities, Then this game is for you, But it’s not just about the textures! Knights Of The Old Republic is a turn based RPG With many choices, You don’t just run around with a blaster blowing up every Sith you see on the planet, You interact with the characters around you by talking to them about their problems and feelings. But everything has a consequence in the end, Does it not? Choose your path to either the Light Side.. Or the Dark Side.. The choice is yours.

Review: Surgeon Simulator 2013

“Surgeon Simulator 2013 is a darkly humorous over-the-top operation sim game where players become Nigel Burke, a would-be surgeon taking life into his own shaky hands, performing life-saving surgical maneuvers on passive patients.” – Steam

Surgeon Simulator 2013 is a brand-new way of surgeon games. As well as being incredibly hard to control, mind-boggling and skill testing- it can also be a hilarious experience. The surgeon’s hands are near enough impossible to operate, and it makes a simple task such as picking up a scalpel like an ancient Chinese mind game. Despite all of this, it is a great game and a definite buy if you love puzzle games. The levels get harder and harder as you complete more and eventually you can perform a brain transplant in space! Or even a alien autopsy! There are hidden levels such as Meet the Medic, a classic short film from Team Fortress 2. Surgeon Simulator 2013 provides hours upon hours of entertainment, and all in all is one of the best indie games on the Steam market.

Review: Garry’s Mod

Garry’s Mod is a physics sandbox. Unlike regular games there aren’t any predefined aims or goals. We give you the tools and leave you to play. You spawn objects and weld them together to create your own contraptions – whether that’s a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn’t have a name yet – that’s up to you. – Steam

To me, Garry’s Mod is more than a game. You think of anything at all, and you can do it in this game. Because of it’s extraordinary community on the Steam Workshop, you can accomplish just about anything in Garry’s Mod. Play piano, fly the T.A.R.D.I.S, fight zombies, build a rocket to the moon, have a death-match with your friends, and even role-play! The game is actually a modification for the well-known source engine, Half-Life, and therefore you can implement pretty much any other Half-Life modification or source game into Garry’s Mod! For example, you can spawn in the heavy from Team Fortress 2 and move it’s rag-doll about! Also, you can load any maps from any other source game, and various Garry’s Mod game-modes support Counter-Strike maps (e.g. Prop Hunt). As well as sandbox-ing with your friends, and driving around your Lamborghini, you can also play a wide variety of game-modes. A good well-known game-mode is DarkRP, a role-playing mode in which the goal is to collect as much money as you can and just interact with the community. Depending on what server you are on, you can buy money printers, cars, guns, and you can also get a various number of jobs such as a hitman, the mayor and even a gun dealer! But I am getting side-tracked from Garry’s Mod itself- all in all, Garry’s Mod is a action packed, fun filled, highly modifiable, and just a great game for any one. At only £6.99, you cannot go wrong!

Check out Garry’s Mod on Steam.
